The New Luxury Must Have: Separate His and Her Baths
In this Winter Park home that was recently remodeled to gain a larger master bedroom, giant closets and his/her baths, the results were spectacular and they worked! Though the owners don't "talk" as much, they do very much enjoy their privacy and quiet.
Each bath has a customized vanity and storage in both tower cabinets and customized medicine cabinets, large walk-in closets, upgraded plumbing "goodies" such as an electronic toilet/bidet, body sprays, rain showers and more. Each bath has its own flat screen TV and acoustically-balanced speakers. Finishes include honey onyx and other fine marble materials.
A bath is a haven of peace. One can dress in quiet, take a relaxing bath, watch the news, and basically get ready for the day, an evening out or for bed. The master baths are still the most important areas of the house—next to the kitchen!

She has a bachelor's degree in architecture with a specialty in interior design. All of GDCI's clients appreciate her thoroughness and attention to detail. Her architectural background is an added plus. Suzette has two sons, Evan (18) and Ian (14).
- Sue Bines, Operations Manager. Sue has worked with Godfrey for more than ten years, and brings over 25 years of marketing and sales as well as eight years of office/accounting management experience to the team. She has a psychology degree from Rollins College. Sue's many-realm experience helps keep GDCI running smoothly. She is a huge asset to the firm. Sue is mother of two grown children and grandmother to five.
- Betsy Godfrey, Owner/Founder. Betsy began her career in 1976 as a homebuilder, and later added a general real estate and interior design arm to the company as compatible entities. The primary emphasis on interior design occurred in 1984, and Betsy holds three licenses. Betsy is the mother of three grown children and grandmother to seven.
- Lauri Godfrey, President. Lauri has worked in the interiors field since 1980, starting with her mother in model home interiors. She also began designing the interiors of high rise common spaces and large, custom luxury residences. Her work experience has taken her throughout the US, and she broadened her scope of knowledge traveling throughout Europe. She has a special ability to read the client well, giving clients a new, fresh look along with mixing in their own pieces. Lauri is mother to Alex (17) and Kyle (13) and is also Maddie's mom.
- Diana Peterson, Purchasing Agent. Diana has been with GDCI for ten years. She has a BS in business administration. She is the most knowledgeable procurement person in the industry. Diana handles all of GDCI's orders, receiving, freight, estimates, purchase orders, order tracking and oversees installations. Diana is mother to two-year-old Colin.
As you can see, the team is lean but packs a big punch. Look for the first featured, in-depth bio of a Godfrey Design team member in the November e-Newsletter. |

Since the embarrassing exposure of my avoirdupois in the last issue, I am happy to say that I am down to a slender 180 pounds.

I have also been spending my days at Godfrey Design where all the girls (and the UPS man) love me and feed me constantly. This experience is very enlightening as I meet lots of people: clients, reps and others.
We're all raving about the newest textures from our fabric manufacturers, and the colors are incredible! There are so many new marble, onyx, stone and tile materials, the quarries they come from must be amazing.
Lauri, Suzette and Betsy are constantly coming up with unusual ways to put these materials together in some of the most unique design scenarios. The best part is it sure feels cool to lay on some of these lovely stones… especially on a hot and sticky day.
That's all for now. I'll be back next month. Boof!!
